The Delta Youth Soccer League (DYSL) is an volunteer nonprofit organization that provides recreational and competitive soccer programs for boys and girls ages 4 to 19 years in the Antioch, Pittsburg, Bay Point and adjacent unincorporated areas.  

The purpose of the DYSL shall be to develop, promote and administer the game of soccer among youth without regard to race, religion, color, creed, sex or national origin.

The DYSL shall be affiliated and comply with the authority to the California Youth Soccer Association.

Thanks Roy Immekus 1/12/10 9:22 AM FIELDS- IMPORTANT MEETING The two ACP soccer fields (James Donlan)are on land that is owned and controlled by the Bureau of Land Management. The Bureau's lease with the City of Antioch expires this year. A public outreach meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 8th, 6:30PM at the Nick Rodriquez Community Center. One of the main considerations the Bureau will use in deciding on a new lease is the publics use of the fields and the benefit to the community. Please plan on attending as this is an important issue that has a significant impact on our future use (and hopefully future development) of these fields. It is imperative we demonstrate to the Bureau that those fields are essential to providing activities for our youth. Roy Immekus 1/22/10 8:55 AM DYSL loses a great friend (Marlon 'Murph' Murphy) We have learned that Marlon "Murph" Murphy passed away January 16th from Cancer. Murph was an important member of the DYSL family. He was a coach, a referee, a board member and most importantly a great friend to hundreds of soccer fans throughout the area. Murph had a wonderful laugh that was never in short supply and he could always find the silver lining in any cloud. While we are saddened by Murph's loss and offer our sincerest condolences to his family, we continue to be warmed by the friendship that Murph bestowed upon us and we hope he knows just how much he will be missed. They will be a service at the Prewett Water Park on Saturday, February 6th from 3pm to 5pm. After which there will be food and a celebration of Murph's life at their house at 2824 Wildflower Dr., in Antioch. You are invited to attend both ceremonies and certainly should feel free to either share your recollections of Murph in his soccer life or just say hi. You've got to know that Murph would want the discussion to be about soccer. DYSL is encouraging players that attend to wear their DYSL jersey and referees to come in uniform in honor of Murph. District 4 Referee instruction is changing the format for the Grade 8 course which may change the proposed course dates. Our schedule will be finalized when they settle on their format which will include a field session. Grade 8 - This is an 18 hour course usually taught in 5-6 sessions over 3 weeks. A Grade 8 referee may referee any youth game. Of course, assignments on older matches requires actual game experience. This is the appropriate course for adults associated with comp teams. Grade 9 - This is an 8 hour course taught in two four hour or one nine hour session. A Grade 9 or Recreational Youth Referee may referee ONLY U14 and younger recreational games. Current Grade 9 referees - This is a great way to upgrade your license with the full Grade 8 course. It will provide a great review of the material already covered in the Grade 9 course and cover most things in more depth. There is no cost to DYSL members for the course. Students passing will need to pay their $40 license fee on the last night. The course is open to youth (age 13+) and adults. The passing rate for students under 13 has been very low in the past. Your time will come - I know you're dying to referee. If you know of other people interested in the course please forward this information to them.
